Pass Plus is a short training course aimed at new drivers, after you've passed your test. There are no extra tests to take! See course details.

The course lasts a minimum of 6 hours, and builds on your existing knowledge. You'll receive extra training and experience on a variety of road conditions, including driving:

• in town
• in all weathers
• on rural roads
• at night
• on dual carriageways
• on motorways

Although you may have already experienced some of these conditions the additional training you will receive will lead to a much higher, safer standard of driving.

Statistics have shown that those pupils who have gone on to complete the Pass Plus scheme have a lower accident rate. For this reason, many insurance companies will give excellent discounts to new drivers who have completed their Pass Plus training.

Although the course can be taken at anytime after passing your test, it is most beneficial within the first year. We recommend you complete the training within the first couple of weeks after passing your test.

Hampshire County Council are currently offering to pay £75 towards your Pass Plus course. To qualify you must be under 25, live in Hampshire, and have passed your practical test within one year. You can apply here.
