New Driver Course
Aims:
Starting with the basics of controlling the car we will cover the full
DSA syllabus including dealing with other traffic, junctions, pedestrians, reversing, dual carriageways and vehicle maintenance.
You will develop a safe and confident approach to driving in a variety of situations. If you already have previous experience we will start where you left off. At the end of the course you will be fully prepared for the DSA Practical Test, which is normally taken in the driving school car. We will arrange a test booking towards the end of the course.
Vehicle:
Lessons take place in the specially adapted driving school car.
Course location:
Lessons are given in Petersfield and the surrounding areas. We can begin and end in the location of your choice (e.g. from home, work, or college). We will also get plenty of practise in the areas surrounding the test centre.
Support:
A variety of extra learning materials will be provided, depending on your chosen price plan. You will be given regular handouts to cover the main points of each lesson. Your progress record will help you to track how you are doing. I can provide resources to help with home study for the DSA Theory Test, and can offer extra help where needed.
Times:
Lessons can be arranged Mondays-Saturdays to fit into your normal schedule. Lesson duration is usually 2 hours but 1 hour lessons can be provided if required.
Duration:
For a new driver with no previous experience, the course is usually completed in around 4 - 6 months with a weekly 2 hour lesson. If you require your licence more urgently, more frequent lessons can normally be arranged!
